What is oven protection and how to turn it on

Despite the fact that there is an oven in almost every modern apartment or house where it is used intensively, it is an electrical device that in itself carries a certain danger to humans. With this in mind, manufacturers are trying to reduce the possible danger to people by using various types of protection that make the oven safer to use.

What is oven protection?

In this case, protection is understood as a certain function, which is first of all necessary for ensuring safety, which does not allow changing settings or otherwise affecting the device during its operation. Most often, the protective function in the oven is used to prevent access to certain actions by children.

At the same time, having set certain parameters and launched the device into operation, it is blocked in one way or another using a special button or hook that prevents the door from opening.

In addition to blocking children, the oven may have other functions that ensure its safe use. An example of this is the automatic closing of the appliance door when pyrolytic cleaning is turned on.

So, when you turn on this mode, the temperature inside can reach 500 0C. If you open the door at the time of intense heating, you can inevitably get a burn. At the same time, this can be done unconsciously, but simply forgetting about the cleansing mode turned on.

In this case, the oven door is closed until the temperature drops to 200-250 0C, and only after that it will automatically turn off, making it possible to open it if necessary.

Also in a separate group of functions that ensure the safe use of devices for this purpose, include automatic shutdown when a voltage drop occurs in the network during operation. Most often, this option is used in electrical devices.

Overheat protection, which is equipped with both built-in electric and gas appliances, allows you to use a cooling system that will quickly bring the device to its normal state. Both the gas and electric versions can have an automatic shut-off if there is nothing inside the device and they just forgot to turn it off.

Types of protection for children in the oven

Currently, there are three main options for blocking the oven from children. The first is the simplest and consists in closing the door with a lock, which can have a different look. Thus, the child will not be able to open the oven door and get burned at the same time.

Child lock

Since the lock only helps to close the door, but the entire control panel remains accessible, and the child can change the parameters or turn off the device by pressing the button, in this case the oven is additionally equipped with another function that prevents these actions. Its essence is to lock the panel by pressing a combination of buttons on it. It is practically impossible to repeat it, even after seeing, therefore, it will not be possible to affect the operation of the device or harm itself in any way.

If you do not use switches, but regulators to set the oven parameters, then the required combination to block the door and control panel can be made by them.

So, to enable the lock, you will need to turn the regulator three times to the right side and back, and then it will turn on automatically. The same actions, but only in the opposite direction, will need to be done to disable the lock.

When controlled by regulators, the protective function can be activated by combinations of their turns
